The repetition of an X mark has become known as Allen Maddox’s visual signature. These marks can be described as a cross in a box, a kiss-cross and a warping criss-cross. With astonishing energy, Maddox’s paintings redefine dramatic painting and unite controlled frenzy with a vibrant intuition.
