In 2019, through the support of the Creative Thinking Project and The Chartwell Trust, Professor Peter O’Connor and a dedicated group of inspiring experts developed Te Ora Auaha, the Creative Wellbeing Alliance Aotearoa.

The alliance creates a structure through which the groups can come together to increase impact, visibility, recognition and investment in their individual and collective work. They focus on:

  • Strategic leadership and advocacy

  • Researching and sharing best practice and evidence

  • Building the Aotearoa research/evidence base

  • Connecting and uniting a fragmented cross-disciplinary field

  • Strengthening practice and supporting innovation, collaboration and learning

  • Advocating for policy and practice rooted in principles of equity, social justice and wellbeing for all.

“Te Ora Auaha is a national network for the arts, health and wellbeing. We aim to connect people working across this diverse and innovative field to grow a thriving community of practice. It is all about connecting people interested in the arts for health and wellbeing across the country.”
