Chartwell Exhibition in association with My Country: Contemporary Black Art from Australia

The Chartwell Collection includes a large number of works by Aboriginal artists from Australia. When My Country: Contemporary Art From Black Australia was shown at Auckland Art Gallery in 2014, several works from both the Chartwell and Auckland Art Gallery Collections were exhibited in association with the main exhibition which travelled from Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane, Australia.

On the left is Bush Yam Dreaming, a work of grey circular spiralling shapes over a black background. On the right is a work by Dawn Naranatjil Yakuri, consisting of a black horizontal rectangular canvas with lots of long painted slashes of white paint filling the majority of the canvas.
