Chartwell Talks was a series of Artists Talks held at Tauranga Art Gallery in 2018 and 2019.

Chartwell Talks was a series of Artists Talks held at Tauranga Art Gallery in 2018 and 2019. Supported by the Chartwell Trust and designed to encourage conversations about art and culture, the Tauranga Art Gallery was able to host artists and speakers from outside the city.

As of 2019, it included visits by Elliot Collins, Lonnie Hutchinson and Reuben Paterson who discussed their art practice, Kelly Carmichael who spoke about public art projects, Dieneke Jansen who talked about her practice and urban growth / development, and Fashion designers Emilie and Abbey from Maaike.

Alongside the 2019 exhibitions, Anti-heroes: The Art of Conscious Cartoonists and Comic Book Creators (23 February – 9 June 2019) and Imaginary Friends (30 March - 7 July 2019) Tauranga Art Gallery also hosted US-based artists Dash Shaw and Gary Baseman in association with the Chartwell Talks series and the US Embassy.
