Chartwell supports artists as they make and think. Making is an active and connected process, involving the interaction of intention, intuition and intellect with the mediums of the world. Chartwell is making too - making a difference through philanthropy and enabling access to creative activities and research.

Tim Johnson

Tim Johnson is an Australian artist who lives and works in Sydney. Johnson is known for his ethereal paintings that explore aesthetic and spiritual connections between cultures. He has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally. Selected solo exhibitions include The Luminous Ground, Ikon Gallery, Birmingham (2013); Tim Johnson: Painting Ideas, Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane (2010) and Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney (2009); Tim Johnson, Glasgow Museum, Glasgow (1994). Johnson’s work is held in major public collections throughout Australia, including Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Griffith University Art Museum, Brisbane; National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane; University of Queensland Art Museum, Brisbane; and University of New South Wales, Sydney.
