Richard Grayson
Richard Grayson is an artist, curator and writer currently based in London, UK. Richard Grayson was a founder member of The Basement Group 1979-1984 Newcastle upon Tyne, a pioneering artists collective that made and represented time-based and performance practice.
Recent solo exhibitions include Nothing Can Stop Us Now, a Matt's Gallery/Dilston Grove production, London 2014 & The Golden Space City of God at Kunst Museum Thurgau, Switzerland 2010/Matt's Gallery 2009. The De La Warr Pavilion presented a five year retrspective of his work in 2010. Recent group exhibitions include His Master's Voice HMKV Dortmund 2013, the 2012 Kiev Biennale, the 2010 Sydney Biennale, and Choral Visual, Siemens Foundation Casa de la Cultura, Buenos Aires, Argentina 2009. Grayson has curated the 2002 Sydney Biennale (The World May Be) Fantastic, the Hayward Gallery Touring exhibition, A Secret Service: art concealment compulsion (2006), Polytechnic, Raven Row, London (2010) and Worlds In Collision, Adelaide International (2014). He was co-curator with Robin Klassnik of Revolver: a series of three group exhibitions for Matt's Gallery (2012). He is the Bartlett Research Fellow in the Department of Fine Art at Newcastle University and a Visiting Tutor at Ruskin School, University of Oxford.
