Martin Basher

Martin Basher was born in Wellington, New Zealand and currently lives in New York, USA. He  received his BA (2003) and MFA (2008) from Columbia University, New York. Primarily a painter, Basher’s practice for nearly a decade has focused in on the forms and imagery of commercial retail spaces. Basher has participated in group exhibitions in London, Los Angeles, and New York, and been exhibited in Art Fairs in Los Angeles, Milan, Sydney, and Paris. His recent solo exhibitions include the 2020 Marfa Invitational in Marfa, Texas, 'Birds of Paradise' at Anat Ebgi Gallery, Los Angeles, 2020, and 'Untitled' at Starkwhite, Auckland, 2019.

His work is featured in numerous public and private collections including The Agnes Gund Collection, New York, The Majuda Collection, Montreal, and The Chartwell Collection, Auckland.
