Kaleidoscope subverts the assumption that abstract art was invented by 20th Century European artists by presenting a dazzling array of works by artists living and working in the Pacific. Bright colour, diverse shapes and a range of patterns are brought together in this exhibition of contemporary and modern art.

Steve Carr’s slow-motion, bright video work Screenshots (2011) is included in this exhibition from the Chartwell Collection, documenting the artist popping paint-filled balloons in front of a high definition scientific camera to explore movement, time and the conventions of painting.
