James R Ford

James R Ford is a conceptual artist whose work contemplates the nature of value, the perils of choice, and the search for meaning. Ford studied at Nottingham Trent University and then Goldsmiths College in England. He moved to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2009 and currently lives and works in Wellington. Ford's work has been included in numerous group exhibitions throughout New Zealand and internationally, and he has been the subject of solo shows in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Gisborne, Dunedin, Sydney, and London. In 2022 Ford was a Finalist in the National Contemporary Art Awards NZ, in 2019 he was a Finalist in the Molly Morpeth Canaday Award – Painting and Drawing, NZ, and in 2018 a Finalist in the Molly Morpeth Canaday Award 3D, NZ.
