Australian artist Ian Fairweather is represented in the Chartwell Collection with the 1963 work, Nebula, synthetic polymer paint and gouache on cardboard on composition board.

Now, a new book is due to be released that chronicles his life through a series of personal letters, photographs and memorabilia. Published in October 2019 by Text Publishing, the book is edited by Claire Roberts and John Thompson.

Fairweather spent some of his life living in China, Bali and the Philippines but spent the last two decades of his life on Bribie Island in Queensland, Australia, until his death in 1974. The book, drawing on 354 letters, traces his remarkable life.
