Shannon Novak at Dunedin Public Art Gallery

Shannon Novak is exhibiting a body of work called The Expanded Gallery, at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and is using the app known as Aurasma to introduce an augmented reality (AR) experience for viewers using their own mobile phones. Using locations including Moray Place and Dunedin City Council Civic Centre, Novak invites viewers to participate in animating his works through their devices. The Chartwell Collection holds a suite of drawings by Novak that documents development of his augmented reality project held in New York in 2013, in which sites in Manhattan became part of an AR network created by Novak to reveal the local histories of the area.
