Ricky Swallow is one of the most significant contemporary Australian artists. He represented Australia at the 2005 Venice Biennial. Using the brand recognisability of Apple Computers he transforms technology into a fairground-like meditation on death. Humour is always present in Swallow’s art, yet it is tempered by issues of human transformation. (Local Atlas, 2004)
